Hair breakage, hair thinning, scalp irritation, scalp damage, itching, hair loss, baldness, lack of hair growth are just some of the complaints from many who use chemical relaxer on their hair.
There are simple natural ways you can get your hair soft and grow fuller without those adverse effects already mentioned. This tip was written by a friend (Theresa) who never use relaxer but has a long and full hair and no itching.

CLARET BEAUTY TIPS

SKIN

·         How to Remove Wrinkles from face and skin with Claret Virgin Coconut Oil
Claret Virgin Coconut oil softens skin, promotes healing of damages (like wrinkles and spots) already done to the skin and protects it from further damage. The oil does this by absorbing deep into the cell structures of your skin’s connective tissues, this keeps these tissues strong so that your skin doesn’t sag (and form additional wrinkles).
It helps stop free-radical formation, which causes wrinkles and liver spots, as well as other signs of aging and sun damage.
Using Claret Virgin Coconut oil on your skin also helps remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, this action make your skin appear smoother and younger.
It is best to apply the coconut oil to your face before going to bed.

Instructions:
·         Rub a good sized amount of Claret Virgin Coconut oil between the palms of your hands to warm the oil
·         Apply the warmed coconut oil on your face. Use your ring and pinky fingers to massage coconut oil into your skin.
·         Use light, upward motions. Start at the chin and slowly work your way up. Massage around your eyes in circular motions. Use upward strokes on the forehead.
·          Use this method to remove makeup and rinse away with a cleanser each night.

As Moisturizer
Claret Virgin Coconut oil can serve as a high-performance moisturizer for your skin as it delivers vitamin E and fatty acids.
Use Claret Virgin Coconut oil as a moisturizer by applying it directly to your skin or mixing it with your body cream or lotion.
Don’t pour excess into the cream or lotion as this could give the skin a greasy look and cause makeup to slip off the skin (Little tips for the ladies).

Apply Claret Virgin Coconut oil to your lips, this skin needs moisture, so don't neglect it. Coconut oil can work to soothe chapped lips and will keep lips healthy and supple. It can even double as a daily lip gloss or chapstick. The light and pleasant fragrance found in Claret Virgin Coconut oil makes it a perfect treatment for the lips.

VIRGIN COCONUT OIL AND ITS USES

Virgin coconut oil is the oil obtained from the fresh and mature kernel of coconut through mechanical process without heat or little heat at a level which does lead to alteration or transformation of the oil.

The oil at its virgin state has so much health uses and advantages which include the health benefit obtained from retained vitamins and antioxidants, antimicrobial and antiviral activities from Lauric acid which is very high, the highest obtainable from any oil.

The high level of medium chain fatty acid in the oil also help in easing and increasing digestibility of food, it is directly absorbed and burnt as energy in the liver resulting in quick or early satiety, therefore having great potential as an anti-obesity treatment.

It has also been found that the oil when used topically help to reduce inflammation and aid wound healing process, therefore its use directly on the skin and also in body cream and lotion.

COMPOSITION OF COCONUT OIL

As a plant product, coconut oil contains biologically active substances which have been identified to provide nutraceutical/health benefits, these substances include anti oxidants (tocopherols, tocotrienols), phytosterols (plant sterols), phenolic compounds (flavonoids and other polyphenols), phospholipids and saturated fat made up of medium chain triglycerides (Carandang, 2008).
The oil has the natural sweet taste of coconut and contains 92 % of saturated fatty acids (in the form of triglycerides), most of them (about 70%) are medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) (Gopala et al., 2010). These medium chain triglycerides are made up of three saturated fats bound to a glycerol backbone, they are distinguished from other triglycerol by the fact that each fat molecule is between six to twelve carbons in length (Babayan, 1988). The medium chain triglycerides are a component of many foods, with coconut and palm oil being the dietary sources with the highest concentration (Heydnger and Nakhasi, 1996).
The most abundant and potent medium chain fatty acid in coconut oil is lauric acid (C12) which comprises nearly 50% of coconuts fat content, others include capric acid (C10), caprylic acid (C8) and caproic acid (C6). Other types of fatty acid it contain include myristic acid (C14), palmitic acid (C16), stearic acid(C18), oleic acid(C18:1), and linoleic acid (C18:2) (Manisha and Shyamapada, 2010). Below is a graphical representation of the fatty acid composition of coconut oil.

Phytochemical studies have indicated that lauric acid (C12) which is coconut oil’s major fatty acid component is highly responsible for the activities of the oil (Peat, 2003) such as antbacterial, antifugal, antiviral and antiprotozoal activities (Isaacs and Thormar 1991, Rihakova et al., 2002, Thormar 1996, Enig 2003).

A LITTLE 'TALK' ABOUT COCONUT (Cocos nucifera)

Image result for coconut tree

The coconut tree is a very important tree throughout the world, a tree whose benefits cut through all aspects of life. It is a large palm belonging to the family Arecaceae. The term coconut refers to the entire coconut palm, the seed and the fruit.

It is found across much of the tropic and subtropics where it serves as part of the daily diet of many people and because of its many uses it is referred to as the tree of life (Chan and Elivitch, 2006). Coconut is highly nutritious and rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. For thousands of years it has held a respected and valuable place in Indian folk medicine, it is believed to be antiblenorrhagic, antibronchitis, febrifugal and antigingivitic. In Ayurvedic medicine, the oil, the milk, cream and water of coconut were all used to treat hair loss, burns and heart problems. In India, the use of coconut for food and its application in the ayurvedic medicine were documented in Sanskrit 4000 years (Manisha and Shyamapada, 2011).

The physiological components of coconut are found in the fat part of whole coconut, the fat part of desiccated coconut and in the extracted coconut oil (Enig, 1999).
Coconut oil is an edible oil that has been consumed in tropical countries for thousands of years (Gopala et al., 2010). An Oil once mistakenly believed to be bad by the Americans because of its saturated fat content is now known to contain a unique form of saturated fat that actually helps prevent obesity, heart disease, stroke and hardening of the arteries as well as provide many other health benefits. Interestingly enough, the secret to coconut oils healing powers came as a result of research on human breast milk (Kabara, 1980). Research has shown that coconut and its oil can be very beneficial, some of which include antiviral effects (Hierholzer, and Kabara, 1972, Enig, 1999), cardioprotective effect (Nevin and Rajamohan, 2007), antioxidant effect (Loki and Rajamohan, 2003), antidote effect (Effiong et al., 2010), antidiabetic effect (Salil et al., 2010), antifungal effect (Zdenka et al., 2002, Ogbolu et al., 2007), antiprotozoal effect (Esquenazi et al., 2002), hormone like effect (Radenahmad et al., 2006), antibacterial effect (Preuss, et al., 2005, Preuss, et al., 2005, Ruzin and Novick, 2000).
Coconut oil is a saturated oil obtained from the meat of coconut through dry or wet processing (Grimwood et al., 1975). The copra, the dried kernel which is mainly used for oil extraction contains about 65-75 % fat and oil (N.M.C.E, 2007), about 20 % carbohydrate, 7-8 % protein, 5-6 % natural sugars and about 2-3 % moisture (Manisha and Shyamapada 2011). The oil is primarily made up of medium chain fatty acid such as lauric acid and capric acid which has adverse effects on some Gram positive(Staphylococci, Streptococci species) and Gram negative (Enterobacter spp, Enterococcus spp) organisms. These fatty acids and their derivatives act by disrupting lipid membranes of the organisms (Projan et al., 1994).
