VIRGIN COCONUT OIL AND ITS USES


Virgin coconut oil is the oil obtained from the fresh and mature kernel of coconut through mechanical process without heat or little heat at a level which does lead to alteration or transformation of the oil.

The oil at its virgin state has so much health uses and advantages which include the health benefit obtained from retained vitamins and antioxidants, antimicrobial and antiviral activities from Lauric acid which is very high, the highest obtainable from any oil.

The high level of medium chain fatty acid in the oil also help in easing and increasing digestibility of food, it is directly absorbed and burnt as energy in the liver resulting in quick or early satiety, therefore having great potential as an anti-obesity treatment.

It has also been found that the oil when used topically help to reduce inflammation and aid wound healing process, therefore its use directly on the skin and also in body cream and lotion.

Below is a list of its other uses:
Moisturizer – simply scoop some out of the bottle and apply all over your body, including neck            and face or simply mix it with your body cream

Preshave and Aftershave – Claret Virgin Coconut oil will help prepare your skin for the pending         damage caused by shaving.


Hair Conditioner/ Treatment – use as hair conditioner by applying a teaspoon of Claret Virgin             Coconut oil to your hair and then run your fingers through your hair to distribute the rest! For a           deeper treatment, rub in a tablespoon of coconut oil onto your scalp and gently work through to            the ends. Put a shower cap on to prevent transfer onto bed linens and leave on overnight.

Make up remover – use a cotton swab and a dab of coconut oil and you would be amazed at how         well it works!


Chap stick/ Lip-gloss – just rub a little into lips where it acts to soften and make the lip glow

Massage Oil – Apply some of the oil over the skin and gently massage.


Stretch Mark Cream – Claret Virgin Coconut oil is great at nourishing damaged skin.

Nipple Cream – works great to nourish cracked, sore, or dry nipples. Apply to a cotton ball and            leave on your nipples.


Diaper ointment – very comforting on babies. Also safe for cloth diapers.

Healing – when applied on cuts, coconut oil forms a thin, chemical layer which protects the                  wound from outside dust, bacteria and virus. Coconut oil speeds up the healing process of                    bruises by repairing damaged tissues.


Insect Bites – when applied directly to a bite, Claret Virgin Coconut oil can stop the itching and         burning sensation as well as hasten the healing process.
